Types of coffee drinks
Drink names are listed alphabetically
- Affogato A scoop of vanilla gelato or ice cream "drowned" in hot espresso
- Americano Espresso diluted with hot water
- Black Coffee Standard drip or filter-brewed coffee served without milk
- Café au Lait Equal parts strong brewed coffee and scalded milk
- Caffè Breve Espresso with steamed half-and-half instead of milk, producing a richer and creamier drink (popular in US)
- Caffè Miel Espresso, steamed milk, honey, and a touch of cinnamon
- Caffè Romano Espresso served with a slice or twist of lemon
- Cappuccino Equal parts espresso, steamed milk, and thick milk foam
- Cold Brew Coffee grounds steeped in cold water for 12–24 hours
- Cortado Espresso cut with an equal amount of warm, untextured milk
- Dirty Chai Latte A chai tea latte with a shot of espresso added
- Doppio A double shot of espresso
- Espresso A concentrated shot of coffee, the foundation for most drinks.
- Espresso Tonic Espresso mixed with tonic water and ice
- Flat White Double espresso with silky microfoam (popular in Australia and UK)
- Frappé Instant coffee, sugar, and water shaken into a foam (Greek iced coffee made with instant coffee)
- Freddo Espresso An espresso shot shaken with ice until frothy
- French Press Coffee Coffee brewed by steeping coarse grounds in hot water and pressing them with a metal filter
- Gibraltar A double espresso with an equal amount of steamed milk, traditionally served in a small Gibraltar glass
- Iced Latte Espresso and cold milk poured over ice
- Japanese Iced Coffee Hot coffee brewed directly over ice to preserve aromatics while chilling quickly
- Latte Espresso with a large amount of steamed milk and a thin layer of foam
- Long Black Hot water topped with espresso (preserves the crema)
- Lungo An espresso shot extracted longer with more water passing through the grounds
- Macchiato Espresso "stained" with a dollop of milk foam
- Mocha A latte with added chocolate syrup or cocoa powder
- Nitro Cold Brew Cold brew infused with nitrogen for a creamy, stout-like texture
- Oat Milk Latte A latte made with oat milk instead of dairy milk
- Piccolo Latte A ristretto shot topped with a small amount of textured milk in a small glass
- Pour Over Coffee Filter coffee brewed by manually pouring hot water over coffee grounds
- Protein Coffee (Proffee) Coffee blended with protein shakes or collagen
- Red Eye Brewed coffee with a shot of espresso added
- Ristretto An espresso shot extracted with less water, producing a shorter, more concentrated flavor
- Shakerato Espresso shaken with ice and sugar until chilled and frothy
- Turkish Coffee Very finely ground coffee boiled in a cezve, served unfiltered
- Vietnamese Iced Coffee Strong coffee brewed into sweetened condensed milk over ice
- Wiener Melange Espresso with steamed milk and milk foam, similar to a cappuccino but milder.
