Senses and their thresholds of sensitivity
The threshold values shown are very approximate and are for ideal conditions
- Sight A candle flame visible on a dark, clear night at a distance of about 2.5 km (previously it was thought that the distance could be 50 km, but this has not been confirmed by experiments)
- Hearing Ticking of a clock in silence at a distance of 4 m
- Smell A few molecules of odorous substance per square centimeter of air
- Taste One teaspoon of sugar without a slide (5 g) per liter of water
- Touch The wing of a bee dropped on a person's back from a height of 1 cm
